"Created in memory of and with honor for ALL WWII Veterans"

If not for the many sacrifices made during WWII in the battles and on our homelands, the many freedoms we enjoy today would have been possibly lost forever ! !

"AND I WILL ALWAYS BE FOREVER GRATEFUL"

This scenery took months to complete as it took that long for me to research the real "BATTLE OF GUADALCANAL"

On August 7, 1942 at about 6am, 10,000 fighting men from the 1st Marine Division stormed the beaches at Guadalcanal in whats known as the FIRST American offensive in the Pacific Theatre campain. The on-again off-again battle lasted almost 4 months with many hardships and sickness. Please see the README.txt file inclosed in the scenery file for alot more real information and WEB LINKS.

The map below was created by the FIRST MARINE DIVISION and was a great aid in creating the scenery for FS98. Also, this scenery depicts the true scenery of early August 1942. In the weeks and months following, Guadalcanal went through many changes which are not shown in the scenery. Today, Henderson Field sports a Commercial Airliner concrete runway ID: AGGH.
